ARSCO Completes National Mall Project
in 8 Weeks: Custom Enclosures for
Radiators, HVAC Fan Coils

Project was fast-tracked: 8 weeks from
engineering drawings through installation. 

ARSCO recently completed work on comprehensive
modernization of a building owned by General Service
Administration in Washington D.C.  The work was a
subcontract from Grunley Construction Co., Rockville, MD.

The 591,000 sq. ft. building houses The U.S. Dept. of
Education, The U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services, and
The U.S. International Broadcasting Bureau (Voice of America).  

ARSCO’s work included 8 different enclosure units, manufactured
in 2 styles, in four sizes. The enclosures were all floor-mounted;
some had sloped tops and all had insulated, removable panels. 

Manufactured from 12 and 16 gauge Galvaneal, all were powder
coated (except for mounting hardware) in a specified custom color. 
ARSCO provided turnkey support services, from scope of work
through engineering, manufacturing, powder coating and
installation management. The project was completed in late 2007. 

The project was designed and completed with the goal of
receiving U.S. Green Building Council Silver certification.
